Etienne Stott was a Gold medal winner at the London 2012 Olympics. He uses his platform and skill as a confident public speaker and experienced media commentator to speak out about the grave threat facing humanity from the climate and environmental crises.
Etienne was lucky enough to have sporting a career spanning 20 years, encompassing the challenges of serious injury, intense rivalry and grave disappointment. After retiring from elite sport in 2016, he turned his energy to fight for the issues that matter to him. Upon coming to terms with the severity of environmental destruction globally, Etienne decided that it was logical to do everything he could to safeguard our future on this planet. He is now an outspoken campaigner for immediate action to tackle the climate crisis and proud member of Extinction Rebellion and has spoken passionately on Sky News, Al Jazeera, Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine Show, Good Morning Britain and more. Etienne hopes that adding his weight as a London Olympian will have helped to normalise protest in this unprecedented situation.
Etienne is also a co-founder of Champions for Earth, a campaign group which aims to harness the power of sport and sporting values in the struggle to address the planetary emergency.
