Jenn Reid is a performer of nineteenth century Lancashire dialect and Victorian broadside ballads. Her bold voice and disarming humour command attention with ease, offering audiences an accessible and entertaining way into exploring folk traditions.
Jenn researches nineteenth century music to perform the songs and stories live, develop talks, seminars and traditional craft workshops for history and community groups, educate students from primary school to university level.
Folk music has lost its way, and people have lost track of their geographical heritage. The working classes made music as a provocation and this is a tradition Jenn continues. Jenn contributes to the academic field of folk history with funded research and artistic projects.
